So happy today.
I got the news from Kauai first thing this morning that Lyndie had given birth, and both mother and son were fine. It was the news we’d all been waiting to hear.
I know that Andy’s spirit is going to live on through Andy Jr. I can’t wait to meet the little guy, and I can’t wait to be Uncle Joel from Coolangatta. I know that he and my little boy Mahli are going to be best mates, just like their old men were. And in years to come I’m going to look at Andy Jr and see little glimpses of his father, and I’ll always remember my friend and the heart of gold he possessed.
All my love and heartfelt best wishes go out to Lyndie, Andy Junior, and the whole Irons family. I can’t wait to see you guys.

Im sure you will be called on for the odd nappy change Joel when visits to the island are on. Just think you will be able to sit back on the balcony at Rainbow after a surf at Snapper and say ” A Jnr this is where your old man help drag me off the beach when I sliced my foot open it was insane” and this is where he made a friend a minute because your old man was a real good guy.
Im sure the future of surfing is in good hands with Mahli and Andy Jnr set to rip it up.
